Urgent Warning: Keep Windows Shut to

UK residents are being urged to keep their windows closed this August as the venomous False Widow spider enters its peak mating season.

The spider, often called Britain’s most dangerous native species, becomes highly active during late summer. Male spiders leave their webs to search for mates and may enter homes through open windows, vents, or even drains.

Dr. Tom Elwood, a leading spider expert, explained that while False Widow bites are not deadly, they can be extremely painful. Victims often compare the sensation to a wasp sting.
