Teen Mom Turns Heads When She Takes Her Toddler As Her Prom Date

When Melissa McCabe got pregnant as a teenager, she knew right from the start that she was going to have to raise her baby boy as a single mother. The father of her child was a no-good parent who did not show her any support when it came to raising the child the way he should have. Nevertheless, Melissa McCabe from Merseyside in the United Kingdom was committed to raising her son the best as she ever could and was going to give him every advantage possible despite being only fifteen years old when she gave birth to the baby boy herself.

McCabe gave birth to baby Arthur when she was just a baby herself. The struggle of being a parent was so much trouble for her that she had to lean on the support of her own parents and support system, which she, fortunately, had in her corner. However, not every family member thought that McCabe should have kept her baby boy. They thought that having a child as a child was a surefire way to struggle through life and end up with a dead-end job.

To this day, McCabe still struggles with her relationship with her mother. She still has her father in her life and does have the support of both her parents even though they wished she had been on birth control so she could have had more control over the fact that she could have brought an entire life into the world.

“It definitely influences the way I bring Arthur up. I don’t want him to be exposed to manipulation and inconsistencies in relationships,” she explained.

So, when prom came around, the then 16-year-old single teenage mother knew exactly what she had to do. She wanted to take the most important person in the world with her to the teenage dance. She dressed up her little toddler boy and took him to the high school dance to show him off to all her classmates and teachers.

She dressed up her little toddler boy and took him to the high school dance to show him off to all her classmates and teachers.

“When prom came around, no one could really have him, and I wanted him to be a part of my prom day,” she told BoredPanda.

The single teen mom bought a cute suit for the baby boy off of Amazon and dressed him up for the occasion so he could accompany his mother to the special dance and make her memory for her.

“It was honestly so cute having him with me and getting pictures taken together because we don’t really have any nice up-to-date pictures of us,” Melissa said. “He loved it, and he particularly loved all the snacks!”

Mom said, “Everyone is going to prom with their boyfriend, whereas I took my biggest blessing.”

“It was so nice because people who I don’t normally even speak to were coming up and saying how cute Arthur is and saying how proud they are of me,” she rejoiced. “I couldn’t have asked for better support from my teachers at school.”
