A 5 year-old girl is being hailed as a hero after she saved her father’s life by making a hilarious call to 911.
Little Savannah noticed that her father was having trouble breathing in Hancock County, Indiana, so she immediately called the police. The ensuing conversation she had with dispatcher Jason Bonham is the cutest thing we’ve heard in a long time!
Jason can be heard ensuring Savannah that help is on the way, and she lets her father know this. Savannah then starts to wonder aloud if it’s alright for her and her father to stay in his pajamas when they are about to have company. She ends up deciding that she needs to go to her room and change, but Jason tells her that it’s crucial that she stay with her father until EMTs arrive.
As Savannah remains on the line, she introduces Jason to her dog LouLou, who she says is “friendly but barks a lot.” Even Jason was impressed by how calm she was!
“Most people when you talk to them, they’re hysterical,” he recounted. “Every time I’ve listened to it it’s amazing. She’s just a little person.”
Savannah stayed on the line for ten minutes, handling the situation with courage and grace! It must have been scary for a 5 year-old to have to deal with a life or death situation, but this brave little girl was not fazed at all. Thankfully, her father ended up making a full recovery thanks to her quick thinking!
