This young man grew up in Stratford, Ontario, like any other kid, playing hockey and soccer. Originally from London, Ontario, his love for music began at church, where he was mesmerized by the drummer. “I’ve loved music for as long as I can remember,” he said. He later taught himself to play piano, guitar, and trumpet, while also taking drum lessons.

Despite financial struggles, his mother was his biggest supporter. Unable to afford a drum kit, she bought him drumsticks, and he practiced on the floor. She posted videos of him singing soul covers on YouTube, determined to share his talent with the world.

As his musical journey took off, his skills flourished. He busked outside a Stratford theater during the summer and sang pop songs even while brushing his teeth, eventually earning almost $3,000. This allowed him to take his family on their first-ever trip to Disneyland. Previously limited by financial constraints, he could now walk into a restaurant and order without checking prices.
