Kiena Dawes, a young mother from Fleetwood, Lancashire, took her own life. Her lifeless body was found by the British Transport Police. Before ending her life at the nearby rail tracks, this mother dropped her 9-month-old daughter off at a friend’s house.

Sadly, Dawes, 23, was involved in an abusive relationship and couldn’t find a way out. Her ex was under a restraining order but he violated it and threatened her constantly.According to Dawes’ brother, Kynan, his sister wasn’t protected by the police. She reported her ex for controlling behavior and abuse, but her concerns were never taken seriously.

Following an attack by her ex, Dawes posted a photo of the social media of the bruises on her arms and body, and her bandaged head, but the police asked her to take it down.

“She was told by the police to take it down. She was trying to raise awareness about someone abusing a woman,” her brother said from the witness stand and added, she wanted to open up to the world, but the very people who are supposed to protect women and serve as their last line of defense told her to remove it.”
