In his last Instagram post, Perry was seen in an infinity pool, captioned, “Oh, so warm water swirling around makes you feel good? I’m Mattman.”
Perry’s life was marred by addiction, as detailed in his 2022 memoir, “Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing.” He admitted, “I have it as bad as you can have it. It’s going to kill me.” He echoed Robert Downey Jr.’s description of addiction, saying, “There’s still a gun. Fortunately, I guess, there’s not enough opiates in the world to make me high anymore.”
