The sixth and Part 2 of the final season of Better Call Saul, the beloved spinoff series of Breaking Bad , will arrive on Netflix on July 11. This means that for many actors it will be time to say goodbye to characters they have played for many years. Among them is certainly Giancarlo Esposito, the drug kingpin Gus Fring. However, the actor, speaking with Insider, did not hide his desire to continue in the role, perhaps with a prequel series.
During the last few days on the Better Call Saul set, I was falling apart. I turn around, look over my shoulder and hear Vince [Gilligan ed] say, “You never know,” Esposito said of the potential for Fring’s story to continue another possible spin-off. I have always wished, and thought, that there was room for the material for the rise of Gus. I feel it would be interesting to know where it comes from,
I feel that he came from a very rich family, he had the opportunity to lead, not just the family, but the government in another country. She had that kind of brain, that charisma, that stature, and she traded it in because she wanted to be her man. There is something fascinating to me about this3
He also added:
I have the whole plot in my head linked to the fact that it comes from a political reality. I think Gus comes from a world dominated by order. And that his order has arrived. He was a soldier. Outside the army, he has acquired the ability to observe. You cannot be a leader if you are unable to follow others.
In my brain, he held a high-ranking position in a military government. He could have stayed there and run the country. He was offered this possibility. But he chose a different path to be himself and to find his own power, regardless of what was offered to him. This is what he chose.
